Tramp Board

Here's my idea for a replication of a wakeboard on a trampoline that's safer and alot lighter - I call it a Tramp Board.

Materials Needed:

One colored Sharpie (so you can see it on your soles)
Two 1.5" Screws
Four Nuts
One Old Pair of Skate Shoes
One Old Skate Deck

Step One: Take your old pair of skate shoes and align them with the holes on your deck. Make a little mark where the holes on your deck are on your shoes. Drill holes in one of the marks (doesn't matter which one).

Step Two: Stick the screws through the holes in your shoes.

Step Three: Stick the screws through the hole in your deck that you selected.

Step Four: Put two nuts on the end of the screws that sticks out on the bottom of the deck.

Step Five: Go have fun on your new tramp board!

You need to either countersink the nuts or go with a threaded insert; otherwise you will rip your tramplines material.

I was thinking of using some of the rounded nuts so that it's almost completely flat.

My son ties his tennis shoes to the skateboard by undoing some of the laces and then running the laces through the holes where the trucks mount. I've often thought about using countersunk nuts but he seems to be happy with his method.....however, since you asked about it, I thought I would suggest these to you. What do you think?

Thanks, Jeff. I'd probably go with F or H on there because the other ones would probably be too wide for the holes.

it seems to me like the screws would be hard & therefore create a pressure spot in the footbed of the shoe (the entire footbed would sink down a bit when you landed on the tramp, while the screws would be hard & would not sink w/ the rest of the footbed).

If that's the only part that's scaring you then you shouldn't be wakeboarding, because that stuff happens all the time. And darty, that doesn't make any sense.

what i mean is that while the footbed is giving some when your weight is on it (i.e. when you land on the tramp). the screws will not give any, and the footbed will sink (from the weight) around them...i was just thinking that this may be somewhat uncomfortable/damaging to the bottom of your foot...

I built one days ago with bolts and threaded inserts from underneath. I used two bolts per shoe, one in the ball of the foot area and one in the heal. It still holds to this day very well, just add some extra soles and you dont even know the bolts are there.

How about using heavy duty velcro? That way if you really eat it your feet will come off of the board. I don't know.... that could be a good or bad thing?

Good and bad. It could come off in mid-air if you grab too hard or something like that.
