Well I have started on my tower this weekend. I have got a lot of my info from this section of the forums and www.diytower.com. I would like to say thanks to all the people who have posted in this section of the forum because all of my questions were answered with out even asking them. I have been reading posts off this board for about 3 weeks doing home work. That search button works wonders when you use it. I also gotta give props to diytower.com there is lots of good info on that site. I Have Finished the speaker cans. So far I have spent about $140. It helps that I am a plumber so I have access to lots of materials that I would normally have to buy. Most of my materials are scraps leftover from jobs. I hope to start welding the tower sometime next weekend. I work some wierd hours so we will see how that goes. I don't know if you guys are interested but i can post some pics if you are.

Here is a pic of the boat incase you were wondering

Well the tower is finished!!!! Except for the powder coating. I am really happy with it. As old as the boat is i believe the tower really fits the look of the boat well. before building the tower I did a lot of reading and lots of people said that having a tower doesn't improve your riding. Well in my case I belive it did. I am not jumping any higher than I was before but I get more hangtime. I am able to do w2w jumps now. I did my first w2w 180 about 10 min after i did my first w2w. With pulling wakeboarders they come out of the water quicker. Over all I am pleased with the tower. Not bad for $200. The only thing I am not sure about is board racks. I am not sure if I want to try an build some or just break down and buy some. If I do buy them they will cost more than the tower. Anyway here are some pics of the tower.

hitchcrack, beautiful! that looks really awesome for a DIY project. Where are you located in Texas? You could probably make a little cash building those for we regular folk who weren't born with a silver Malibu up our butt.

Thanks for the compliments! I am really impressed with how it turned out, I also like how it looks with the boat. Since i built it I was able to follow the line of the window which I believe makes the tower flow with the boat. If you look straight at the boat it looks kinda fugly but who cares my boat has a tower for only 200.00. I am now trying to find a way to mount my Bimni (spelling?) top to the tower so It will be high enough to walk under. I will post some pictures if I find a way to do this. Also I think I will wait until winter to do the powdercoating. I am still looking at the prices.

Thanks! I used a plasma cutter and cut the plates out of 1/4 cold stamped plate. There is an identical plate on the inside of the hull. I also went to home depot and got some shower pan liner and put that between the outer plates and the hull. let me know if you need some more pictures
