What is the general opinion of the Supra Launch SSV. I am looking at purchasing a WB Boat and would like some input. I am also looking at Tige, Moomba, or any others that might be advised.

Kingpin,
With all the standard accessories, I like the Launch SSV over the Moomba's. Both are nice boats. Also, if buying in Dallas, Waterski Boats of Dallas is a pretty good dealer. I almost bought an SSV from them last year but couldn't get an acceptable deal worked out.
Ended up spending some extra $$$ on an X-10 and very glad that I did.
The Tige's we tested didn't ride very good in semi-choppy water. Never gave them much consideration.
Dan is right, the wakesetters are nice boats as well.
Are you looking in Austin or Dallas? Buy from a dealer you can trust, too many horror stories on here about bad dealers. There are tons of boarders on here from Austin who could give you some advice. |

Bryce's 3-step guide to buying a boat:
1. Demo
2. decide what you like best
3. BUY!
-all you'll mostly get here is baised opinions. YOU know what YOU like, so go off that. Good luck.
... oh yeah Nautiques rule! hehe |

| I'll echo Bryce's advice - I tried out a Centurion and a Mastercraft and both boats rode harsh. I then tried out a tige' 20V and loved the ride. The tige' out weighs the other boats by about 600 lbs and the weight difference along with a slightly deeper "V" give a smoother ride. It's interesting to see how people have such different experiences. Go demo the boats with an open mind - buy what you like best!! |

IMO, Nautiques are the best. Go test drive all the boats that you are lookin at and if you can ride behind them. If you come down to Austin to look, go to Sail and Ski on 183 and ask for James Johnson. We bought our 02 SAN from him and had NO problems at all. He is an extremely nice guy and will do everything that you ask. Hands down the nicest salesman EVER. It's everything and more than I could have asked for.
We also looked at the SSV, but I was not impressed at all. Supra really has just gotten into wakeboarding boats, unlike Master Craft, Nautique etc... The salesman also wanted us to buy the boat that day, like most of them, and was a little pushy. |

I feel you can't go wrong with any just about any boat out there. Make a list of pros and cons about each boat you check out. Decide what is really important and what you got to have and what you can live without. Budget has a lot to do with what you should get. How comfortable do you feel laying out $30k, or $40k, or $50k? Ask yourself. Do your homework and don't rush into it. I researched and looked for 6 months before I found what I wanted. I went used and no regrets.
Also I am a big fan of not settling. If what you want costs a little more but you can still swing it, get it. You will be that much happier. Sorry I am done now. _________________ I don't consider myself lucky, but I find the harder I work the more luck I have!! |

Thanks again
