Sarasota...in the winter...

Anybody here ride around Sarasota (Bradenton, Venice, Pt. Charlotte, etc) in the winter time? I'm originally from Sarasota, and will be visiting my parents over Christmas this year. I've lived in Northern California for the past 12 years, and am used to 60-65 degree water (with at least a shorty) and remembered that the water used to be warmer than that on the Gulf coast in December (which sure beats 50-55 degrees in the Sacramento Delta in December, though I've done it - brrrrrrrrrrr).

Anybody out riding that time of year? Was planning on bringing my gear (board, life vest, wetsuit) if I could find a pull. Just thought I would ask early! I know the drill: I'm happy to provide gas/beer money, and know "boat etiquette", so I (hopefully) wouldn't be a pain in the ass.

I live in SoCal but ride The Delta in the Summer. I also go to visit my parents in Sarasota and would love to ride down there. Let me know if you get any replies!

Sorry I missed this, I took some time off to recover from an injury and am getting back into riding full swing over the last couple weeks. Born and raised in Bradenton, now live on the other side of the river and out east in Parrish (15min off I-75). Sorry I missed you, shoot me a PM next time your this way and we will get out.
