There is a lot of marketing hype in the tower market of the "Heim Joint" which is just a rod end bearing. Below is a link to pictures and the history of it if anyone cares.

Long live the heim joint!

This appears to be nothing more than an oblique plug for Monster Tower. Who's mystified? They work!

Actually when I was hearing this term used I could not figure out what was meant (OK, I'm a Florida Eng. Grad - that's my excuse) and eventually figured out it was a rod end bearing. Nearly every other industry calls these rod end bearings (race cars, aircraft, machinery, etc) and we get asked often what is it?

Just been funny to me that there is so much promotion of something that has been around and working well for so long it's public domain - and were guilty as well. Now if I can just figure out what oblique means Very Happy
