My friend has a 99 Tige' 22I and is getting a sub installed under the drivers area. For his B-day his mom is paying for it. I have not heard any of the L7's and was wondering about the sound and bass. He just wants loud bass. He already has tower speakers and mids. How do the L7's sound compared to JL w6's? _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. I have one Kicker 8" L-5 with a kicker custom box in the back of my 4-Runner with a 200 watt Kenwood pushing it mono, and people think I have a 10 it hits so hard. I have to show them after riding around with me, and they are shocked at how loud it is from that one speaker. I bought an 8" cause I really didnt want that much bass, but damn it sounds good. They hit hard and clean. I used to have 2 10" JL Audio W-6's, they hit hard, but if I had a choice again, I would put two 10" L-7 against those W-6 anyday!
Plus they look cool as stuff!
but this is just MY opinion!!

Thanks, I have heard good things about them and I wanted another recomendation from some one. I think it should sound pretty good in his boat with it mounted against the wall drivers side wall. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. | IMO, JL is the best sub manufacturer. The W6 is really good. It has tight clean bass and it hits hard in the right enclosure. Tell ur friend to look at an Alpine R12. For one 12 it hits like a beast!!!! It also has the kevlar cone compared to the foam in the JL, and many other subs. The kevlar will last alot longer out in the boat. |

you can take a POS sub and if put in the right box will pound hard then good ones in a crappy box. My friend had 2 pyramid 10 in his escort in a vented box and you would swear he had two 18 in it. It hit as hard as this guys truck that had two 18 Rockfords in the bed with a shell on it _________________

I used to run one JL 15W6 in my boat with 400 watts running it. It rocked something fierce, nobody else could come close to the volume it put out. However, by the end of summer it would snap the terminal wires between the voice coil and the terminals. It blew up three summers in a row. After the last time they weren't going to warranty the speaker any more, so I put it in my wife's car and it rocked until we sold the car. The problem with boats is we crank the volume way higher than in a car because there is no roof. I have installed a few L5's for other people and they seem to enjoy them, but make the box a lot bigger than the specs call for otherwise they don't sound that hot. Whoever you buy the sub from, ask about and buy the extended warranty, you will definitely use it on a boat sub. _________________ Hot Women, Phat Boats, and Sweet Rides make the world go round! |

I bought two L5's to put in the boat only built one box to start and now i am not goingto bother even putting the other one in the boat. I have 350 rms going to it 700 max. You can hear the boats system before you can even see it. _________________ www.NORTHSHOREBOARDSHOP.com
