maximum pop= a smooth, progessive edge with rope at hips + edging all the way through the wake+standing tall at top of wake.
With that said, one could define the progressive edge as an edge that starts out slow but increases progressively as the rider approaches the wake, with maximum line tension right before impact.
My delimma is this:
I have a nice progressive edge, I'm edging through the wake, and I'm extending my legs.
BUT... I am still not achieving full potential on my height.
So, I believe my problem has to do with a timing factor. I've noticed that on some of my landings, I am riding away on a strong heelside edge. Since how we land is usually how we take off from the wake, this probably means that I am leaning too far back at takeoff.
Would it make sense to stray away from the notion of having the strongest edge hold right before take off? In other words, I would still have a progressive edge but ease off a little(not flatten out) right before hitting the wake in order to be more upright, and also to get my hips out in front of me. Should I focus on this or would it kill my line tension?
My second possible solution would be to not have the rope into my hips as much during my edge(still down, just not in as much). Then, as I'm hitting the wake , I would THEN pull the rope into my hips. This would kill 2 birds with one stone because it would stand me up tall and at the same time put the rope in good positioning for going airborn.
What do you all think? Also, what are a few things you individually focus on right before hitting the wake? You know...little tricks you taught yourself through experience.
p.s. sorry about a wake 2 wake question...I know there's tons of them on here but I figured this one goes a little more in depth and would help other riders get some ideas. _________________ keith lyman is the reason God invented wakeboarding |

A harder edge into the wake will result in a further jump but not quite as high. Try going in with a slower progressive edge (to build tension) and stand tall hitting the wake. Flattening out your edge when hitting it is only for raleys and some inverts.
Don't pull the rope when you hit the wake. It will pull you forward and give the rope some slack and when the slack tightens up, it will throw you off balance.
One main thing to focus on is to not anticipate a fall... even if you know you're going down! COMMIT! A fear of committment will screw up your progress so just go for it.
Good luck bro. _________________

When I have problems I always over-exagerate all the basics until I find the fix. _________________ Hold up....Wait a minute.... Let me put some pimpin in it! mmmmph |

| most of it depends on your approach into the wake, but it could have something to do with your wake also, i mean, lets face it, wakes play an important role in pop. you might want to try making it firmer if all else fails |

It sounds like you are poping late try and stand tall at the base of the wake. this should help with the timing what realy help ed me get the most out of my jumps we're in/out jumps. They will help with the timing as you wont focus on the w2w.this jump is similar to w2w but at the same time it diffrent.there isn't a rapid change in the transition so you realy have to practice your timing. after you get comf doing thoes try andtake them bigger each time
Rec speed 18-20mph
1. star with a ts cut out to the crest of the wake(remian inside the wakes)
2. set up like you would for a hs w2w and start your progresive edge.
3. when you get to the other wake stand tall off the to but stay on edge. _________________ Hoochies not just for pimpin.
