I was wondering if anyone had any edging drills that would help to get more air. I think "The Book" mentioned that shows you some drills in the DVD but i have not had a chance to get it yet. I was also wondering if my height will effect my wake boarding skills, i am 6'4, it seems very hard for me to get my long ass legs to stand tall at the wake destroying my pop. Is this common for a taller person. Thanks for any advice.
Man I am 6'2'' and I feel ya, but realy I have found that it doesnt matter at all as long as you can get the correct edge in and then stand tall in a balanced centered position when you leave the wake. The book edgeing drills that you are talking about will help you with heelside and toeside edging. I havent watched them in a while but I'm pretty sure they go like this. First you start out on the outside of the wake on the side you would edge out heelside. Then you take a heelside edge out and then edge back toeside like your drawing an S. After this do it again three times and at the end of your exagerated S on your heelside edge do a 180 butterslide and then do this switchstance. When you get that, edge out to the flats on the opposite side of the wakes and start your S with a toeside edge and after those three turns do the butterslide with an initiated toeside edge, Then do it switch.
yah i agree with awakeat816, if u wanna learn cutting in and get comfortable with it it's the exact same as what u should do at the start of every sesh. do a couple quick carves from the wake out n back in n surf carve then switch n then on the other side..it's all the same motions as cuttin in. And with standing tall it shouldn't be a big deal..i'm not as tall at 5'11 1/2 but standing tall isn't literally leggs locked out it's just so ur knees don't absorb ur pop. _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...
