Stick one in each toe and you're golden! Seeing as riding season is just starting up I thought I'd give this tip to any new people on the forums.

The process is as follows:
1. Plug drain.
2. Turn on sink as hot as it will go.
3. Put beer bottle in each binding. (In the toe, or any other place that is causing pressure on your foot.)
4. Dunk bindings in said hot water so that the bindings are mostly submerged. Leave them in the hot water for 10 minutes.
5. Pull bindings out of hot water. Allow bindings to cool overnight with beer bottles still in them.
6. Following day, remove beer bottles.
7. Put bindings back into hot water (Minus the beer bottles.) let them sit in hot water for 10 minutes again.
8. Take bindings out of hot water.
9. Strap them on nice and snug, let them sit on your feet for 10-20 minutes.
10. Take off bindings and admire the newfound comfort!

This is just what I do with new bindings, works great, gets rid of the pressure on the tops of my feet that I get with new bindings.

don't you want pressure on the tops of your feet? When I get new bindings I take them apart and crank them tighter. I love my feet it super tight.

that's right, but mine hurts after 5 minutes
They are still tight now

I have tested the Large and they were to 'loose'
Now I have medium narrow and they are better, but to tight till I 'stretched' them

perfect now

Cool

Neat tip. I just use breaking them in as an excuse to ride more. Mr. Green

Yeah, but beer bottles are much more fun to "prepare" for the break in procedure.

Just be careful you dont pack in the footbed (unless you want that). Sometimes when you stuff something in the toe area to stretch out the tops of the overlays it presses down on the footbed instead.

why dont you just get a binding size that fits properly? I don't think stretching the hell out of a binding is a good thing to do for the fit and support of a binding. I mean, I am not sure with the way these boots are designed that manufacturers expect people to strectch the crap out of them, maybe just get a better size.

Thomas P., because some people's feet are just odd shaped. I wear XL bindings and every model I have tried still hurt my feet (right at the base of the toes) after about 10 mins. Stretching them out there really helps and the rest of the binding fits my foot the way it should.

I have very short feet, meaning from a side profile the top of my foot is really low. Most bindings that have the correct sized footbed leave me with 1/2 to 1" of gap on my toe overlays. I almost always have to re-build the binding to get the proper fit over this portion of my foot.

My newest set of binders fit great though. I came up on some Collective Developments that I cannot wait to break in!

I would be inclined to purchase a binding with a cow bell on it.

Dees, are you going to hit up the Portland PWT stop this summer?
