There should be a none of the above. I'm an independent because this is a world of grey and the contrast between conservatives and liberals are blurred.

Personally, I am a liberatarian, because I prefer to take care of mysef and my own affairs.

But for the majority of America, I am very comfortable with a conservative Republican influence leading the way. I wouldn't trust a liberal to make a decision for the good of the nation any more than I would trust someone named Pierre to have my back in a bar brawl.

the liberals in canada have screwed the country many times over. i want chretien out of office as soon as possible, but the ppl in ontario like the liberals for some reason and their vote outweighs everything in the west. our views never get heard b/c the liberals r too busy w/ their thumbs up their butts.

I almost always take the liberal side, but i do have on question.

Is a liberal on the right wing or the left wing? They always talk about people being from one wing or another, but i have no clue which is which.

The party system in the USA is not very diverse. Republican and Democrat are very similar and 'middle of the road.' American political parties are fairly weak and have very little influence compared to those in countries like England.

Basically American Politics is an argument over semantics...

DRAGON88, you still have a lot of school ahead of you. Wait until then before you start a debate on the Electoral College. Your State has several options that would allow the Electoral votes to be more represenative of the popular vote. Attack this issue at the State level before you go making changes to the Constitution.

yes, but the constitution has a clause in it that it can and will be changed if need be.....

I think that if the popular majority votes for one canidate, also if we have the capibity's to count all of the votes why not do the election through popular vote?

please feel free to inform me.....

For the pole, it is tough for me to say. As a person I am definetly rather liberal in my day to day life. I have a very liberal mindset when it comes to most things.
But for politics i would say concervative. Largely because I don't like the idea of killing little babies and taxing the heck out us.
The reason the elctorial college is there is to keep douches like Gore out of the office. It has proved it self now, and forever shall remain.

I think it was called Herbert Hoover and how he had all these plans to make jobs for people and stuff. Also, didnt WWII help to curtail the depression and make jobs available for more people?

Dragon you're making a slippery slope. Avoid that kind of logic or someone will call you on it.
