Put a board on a flat surface, the amount of which each end is above the surface is the amount of rocker.
Three stage rocker means that there are three main spots on the board, one being in the middle, and being almost flat, and the other two on either end, coming up to make more rocker. This makes the board have more explosive pop, but also makes it ride slower.
Continuous roker means there is a continuous curve to the board from end to end. This makes the board faster, but less of an explosive pop. |

dmb, I thought a 3 stage travels faster in the water?...i'm riding an older byerly with a continuous rocker and if i'm moving on to an 06 byerly shouldn't it cut in faster on edge as well as boot me a hella lot higher? _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...

| The Byerly doesnt ride as fast as a board with a continuous rocker but it does set an edge ALOT faster than most boards because of those flow through rails. This means that you can take a shorter aproach with a stronger edge and build speed in shorter time. This is money for load and release tricks. The 3 stage will snap off the wake better than a continuous and take you higher and more of a wake to wake arc. A contiuous line is better for wider approaches and tricks into the flats. |

sounds good...reading up on the byerly a lil more that's pretty well my style so i'm thinking the 06 is gonna be rad...i usually just take cuts from medium length out n focus on the w2w n not overshooting to flats...as fun as it is sometimes to go big to the flats i just like a nice huge pop off the wake and a nice smooth landing on the other side (with a grab3 or roll thrown in)... _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...
