ive been considering buying some fat sacks for my boat. i was wondering if they really are a good investment or not and if they are what type would be the best to buy. like one big one for the middle or two smaller ones for each side in the back. if someone would let me know, i would greatly appreciate it. thanks.
First of all you want to weight the boat about 60% of the weight in the rear of the boat and about 40% in the front. Weight in the middle of the boat will help add size to the wake but for a good shape and lip you need this ratio. I have also found that different setups work better on different boats. Sometimes you just need to move weight around and see what works best for you. I think that there is a pretty good instructional on this site or wake world with Mike Mclin. Fat sacks are definitely a good buy if you dont mind filling them and draining them every time that you ride because leaving them full can lead to problems with your trailer. Depending on how much you ride, and what kind of boat you have, a ballast system can be a great investment. Cheers
