I took my boat into dealer to have Perfect Pass installed on it. They removed my original spedometer/hours meter combo gauge and put in the 2006 Wakeboard Pro with the digital LCD.
My Question is, that do I now not have a engine hour meter anymore? I have flipped through the manual and did not see anything about it reading engine hours. I called the dealer and the mechanic said that it is built into the Perfect Pass. But he could not tell me how to find it in the menu. Anybody know what's up with this?
The boat is a 2005 Calabria ProV. Thaks for any help you can give.

The new 6.5NG version of PP does not track or show engine hours. I'm in the same situation with my 2002 Pro V - I upgraded the PP, and now can't track my engine hours. Supposedly, though, a licensed Mercruiser shop can hook up to the engine computer and get an exact readout of engine hours. As an alternative, you can find out the hours, buy an hour meter, run it up to how many you have, and then install it to run normally. I'm not going to bother, though.

You didn't specify what engine the boat has. I think Calabria's are equipeed with Mercs. My boat has the 315 MPI and there is a analog hour meter attached to a bracket on the intake manifold. Its kind of hiding under the plastic intake guard. I would check to see if you also have one.

Mr. Mike- It has the Mercrusier 330HP Black Scorpion. I'll have to check that when I get a chance, but I have been all over the engine and have not seen one.
I pretty much think I got screwed by my dealer. I am happy with the job and all, but to think that they would not advise someone coming in for that service that they will no longer have an hour meter is crazy. Plus with the warrenty and all if I can't visually check an accurate count of hours and go over a service time or something then I'm sure they'll screw me again.
All they would have to do is advise the clients that they should also get a seperate hour meter since they are going to loose the factory one, Then they actually get MORE money.

This is correct. The computer will give the # of hours.

CGVET, I don't know if you found out yet, but the 6.5NG version of PP wakeboard pro does show your boat hours. Press the MENU button and the UP arrow button simultaneously, then scroll down to SYSTEM INFO and press MENU. You should get a readout showing the version of PP, battery voltage, engine type, engine hours, and water temp (if hooked up).

Thanks C4Avalanchen! You rock man. I still had no idea about that. I just checked my model number and that is the version of PP that I had installed. I rechecked the manuel for the tenth time. I found in a little 2 line section where it says for Contrast, System info, Water temp to press the Menu and Up keys.
That's very strange that they don't specifically put engine hours on there. That's more important to me then the water temp.

No problem dude, glad I could help. I have that engine in my Avalanche. By the way, you can buy an analog hour meter from Faria, relatively cheap and install it in your boat. I only say this because if you ever decide to sell your boat, buyers will want to see an analog guage with exact hours, not a digital readout that could be tampered with. Anyway, good luck, and always read the directions first, haha. Laugh
