Picked up a Centurion Elite-V with their standard tower, now I'm looking to outfit it with one wakeboard rack and one ski rack. The tower has horizontal pipes.
From a stability standpoint, it sure would seem that a two clamp setup would be better than a single. Comments??
As far as a ski rack goes, the only one I've seen so far is from Monster and it's a single clamp. It's hard to imaging a single clamp staying in place with a couple of long slalom skis torquing on it from the wind.
One last ?? - How important is it for the rack to be easily removable? When would you want to remove it anyway??
Monster makes a solid product. I have single clamp racks (Mako) and I've had no problems with them moving. My clamps are oval , not round , so there really is no room for them to move. Mine also haev a quick relaease on them....the only time I use that is if I'm traveling far....mroe than 150 miles or so, just to keep the bugs off. If theft is a concern you coudl also remove them.
