A word upfront: I don't need kids whining about how 'lame' kneeboarding is, so if that's all you can reply about, find something else to do...
The question here is for those of you who made the transition from kneeboarding to wakeboarding. Did you find any similarities, or anything you learned from kneeboarding that applied to wakeboarding? Or was it a whole new ballgame? I'm interested in your experiences. |

I'm just now getting into wakeboarding also.
I tried kneeboarding and got into it back when I thought wakeboarding would be too hard to learn. I got into kneeboarding, got to be what I consider pretty good, and now I'm making the change to wakeboarding.
Wakeboarding is a LOT harder to learn and to do. Turning is very different; turning heelside and toeside is different than just turning left and right on a kneeboard. I can't really find many similarities between Kneeboarding and Wakeboarding. _________________ People should not be afraid of their governments.

| I used to kneeboard a good bit before wakeboarding really caught on. For my experience I didn't find the two very similar. Kneeboarding you don't have a heel or toeside, its a very different feel. In some respect edging is related, but its quite different kneeling as opposed to standing on the board. Just something to adjust to. Anyway not sure what to tell you...they are somewhat similar at heart, but they "feel" so much different I'd consider it a whole new ballgame and start on a clean slate. Good luck to you. |

call me lame but kneeboarding and wakeboarding are my favorite sports...whichever one is my all time favorite changes from time to time...currently it is wakeboarding but it might go back to kneeboarding next week...who knows? usually just depends on what im feeling like...and im probably going to get some trash talk from that but i just like going out on the lake and having fun no matter what im doing...is that so wrong?
similarites-the most common similarity for both sports is the harder you try the harder it is...just relax and take it step by step
i have taught many people how to do both sports and they all have a different preference to which one is easier to get up on...kneeling doesnt necessarily make it easier... trust me...just depends on the person
but for the most part its a whole new ball game for technique...and balance...and sometimes line length and sometimes speed |
