I use a product called Sticker Shock. You can find it at any auto parts store. Works great.

I don't know if it will hurt the clear coat so if someone knows please give some info, but I have removed decals from my four wheelers and snowmobiles by first soaking with WD40. After they are soaked I use a hair dryer to help loosen the glue. Use a knife to get started and then they usually come off pretty easy. The most imporant part is starting to peel. If you can get the decal to come off as one piece the end result will be much better. if it doesn't want to come off, soak it again and be paitient.

Hope that helps.

I know body shops use wheels like these. It might be worth it if you have a big decal.

I took mine of a long time ago and I hate to tell you that the heat gun is pretty much the only way. I used "goofoff" but it only helps a little bit. Use the heat gun and go over and over the entire decal and then let it cool down a little bit. Then go to town. Sometimes you can get some big pieces off but most of the time you're taking it of 1 square inch at a time - It's such a bitch! But it's worth it when you're done.

u realised that today, damn, took almost 6 hours to get the stripe all the way around my boat to come off, painfully inch by inch with a razor blade and a heat gun, the worst was the stripe was all scratched up and such so soon as i got a little goin and i started to peel it, it would break off cuz of the scratch!! but its all off now and the hulls almost sanded and ready for paint this weekend

Yeah! How do you finger nails feel. Ouch, the decal jams under your nails - painful! I can't wait to see how it turns out! Make sure to post pics!!!
