Wow, just came across this in the overtons catalog. In the catalog it says gauranteed submersible! 27 bucks, its a steal compared to others.

I bought one of those for my Dad to use with his cell phone and he loves it. He spends a lot of time on his sailboat and it has saved his phone quite a few times when he is using his dink to get from the boat to shore. I am not sure how it would work for a video camera but I agree that the price seems like a great deal and from what I have seen the Dry Pak is pretty solid for water protection.

somebody on here bought a bag housing like that (don't know if it is the same one) and it leaked on them, so I would buy with caution.

I believe he had a photocamera in the bag...

The best value for a functional sub housing is for the Olympus C5050 It has a housing that costs like $150 for it brand new and can go down to 140ft! I have it and have done it.

Even if you’re just filming from a tube, I’d still be pretty skeptical about the safety for your camera. Yeah, $27 is cheap but it looks like the product is cheap too. All in all you’ll make your own decision as to what it is you want to do, but if I were you, I’d buy a real housing and not risk messing up your camcorder.

"Optical Quality Vinyl" it says... so there's not even a plexiglass or glass lens port. It's a heavy duty ziplock bag, basically.

Mike Isler, exactly...quintin terrentino (i probably just murdered the spelling of his name) is infamous for breaking cameras because he would just stick 16mm inside ziplock bags....bad idea, thats why i built a plexiglass one and marine caulked it like CRAZY.

I use a ewa bag with a canon 20d and i've never seen it leak. If he put the sealing bar down wrong and the bag edges were not lined up I could see it leaking. the ewa is a pain to get used to, but it does get the job done well imo.

The actual seams split on mine. Toasted my 10D for a while.

I'd feel iffy about putting my camera in one again, but there are heaps of people out there who've had good experiences.

Josh R, that's scary, but i could see it happening, esp. on an enclosure that had been used a lot. if its a new enclosure i would be calling them back and asking for a camera repair/replacement!

You get what you pay for.

I could take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed.
