I'm currently riding an O'Brien Mikker. It's a few year's old and it's time to get an update to help me out with my riding. So here it is.
My wake is medium, long ramp, so flats is easy to get to. I'm looking for a board that will give me some height (both boards claim to do that).
I'm 5' 6", 135 lbs so I don't need a big board. (I'm thinking the 125 Fish, or the 132 Shane) I like the board to be fast, yet get on edge quick and hold it. My toeside cut could always use some work, so grip may be important.
Any expeince with these, any advice? I can't demo the boards cause no shop around here has LiquidForce.

Actually the Fish and the Shane dont have the same kind of pop. The Shane has really aggressive 3-stage. However the Fish has a continous hybrid rocker, which is like a subtle 3-stage and continous rocker blended together. The Fish does generate a lot of pop (for that kind of rocker) becuase it is really wide at the tip and tail. Both boards have a lot of pop but the Shane is more straigth up and the Fish is more into the flats So the Shane probably fits better with what you are looking for.
I am actually in the same ( but opposite) position as you. My wake is big, but VERY steep and VERY abrupt. I have been riding a Substance for the past 3 years and getting out to the flats is alot of work. So I am looking for boards with a subtle 3-stage or continous rockers. Ive got my choices narrowed down to the Omega, Fish, or Team (really leaning toward the Omega). But Im definately getting the white/grey Alphas. All the other bindings are too stiff for my tastes. _________________ Bondo saved my wakeboard's life!

Yeah, I'm looking at the same bindings. They are sweet.
The reason for the two boards was beacuse the fish boasted huge pop, but then reading the stats, it was more flats. Actually, at wakeside they had it listed as a board with vertical pop, but that has now changed. I'll probably keep the mikker as it's a great board as well, but I think it's a little slow. Thanks for the input. _________________ 500 up |
