I just got a 2005 21V. It has 2 Kenwood Tower Speakers on it. I started messing around with it today and realized the the left one isn't working. I took the speaker out of the can and there was about two or three inches of water in the back. After that the speaker would short out and come in and out. I have never had tower speakers before but should there be a rubber gasket between the speaker and can? There wasn't on either one of them.
Also, the boat is Sirius ready, the boat was bought as a new boat, but it was a "demo" boat so does Supra have a free subscription for so many months like car companies do? _________________ Holly Bay All The Way!
Some tower speakers have gaskets and some do not. My speakers got water in them a few times from rain and they acted the same way as yours. I would recommend that you dry them out and then get some speaker covers. I bought some from Screamin Sacs and they have keep the water out pretty well. Tower speakers are very nice when you get out riding so if they never recover you may want to look at some of the tower speakers that have a quick release mechanism built in. Enjoy your new ride b/c I know I would.
