Anybody have any ideas? I am in college right now and am looking to save money towards getting a wakeboard boat over the summer.

Budget...payment size? A used boat is a great thing to look into if the budget is tight.

Ride with friends as long as you can. If you buy your own boat, make sure your friends chip in for gas.

Your best bet is to look for an older v-drive, such as a Mastercraft tri-star or Nautique v-drive. If they're out of your price range, find an outboard boat and add a tower and some ballast. You can make your own ballast using lead wheel weights from tire shops.....free! Just put them in some strong boxes and move them until you achieve the right wake.

wakeboarderdave1, Have a realistic budget for a boat. I definitely would suggest a used/older model boat. Research the boat thuroughly! You will have to learn some mechanic skills if you do not already have them.

Live with your parents as long as you can and save, save!

i don't know about the rest of the students on this site, but right now, the last thing i want is a boat payment. find some friends who have a boat, and chip in for gas.

I have been donating plasma twice a week for $50, takes about an hour....

I use it for gas $ above and beyond the boat payment...

Most colleges in the south have a wakeboard club, boat and all. Pay a semester fee, pass the boat test, and you can take the boat out anytime it is available. If thats not what you had in mind, sell off your first born.

Hey man, I did it last year. I worked at a resturant and at a bar. Working at a bar saved me money because I didnt have to pay to drink. I stuffed all my money into a jar and wrote down how much I saved each night. Dont buy anything you don't need.
