Edge/ edging?

Ok ive been wakeboarding for 1 season, and i started at a cable park where there is no wake, you do all the tricks either on a kicker or slider. This season im going to be doing it on a boat. and for alot of the tricks it talks about different ways of edging into the wake and i simply have no idea what that means...Can someone help me??

P.S. anyone from the montreal region go to beachclub?

I wish I could help but I am just learning this process. I just started late last season so I would not be one to give you advice.
