So tomorrow me and a friend are gonna go to this nasty arse blue dyed pond out behind a cracker barrell next to this old convention center thing. He's done this before so its going to work, but what were going to do is use a really really long rope from walmart and make a 90ish degree angle around a tree, and then proceed to be pulled by a car through this pond. Itl be cool to just ride in and do ollies over the fountain and stuff. We might be able to do "dock starts" off of the railing of the convention center too, if we can find a tree in the right place. Check it out for yourself...

Triple post, wow!
Rufio, why are you making a 90 degree bend? Thatll tear the rope up real fast, just have the car on the left side of the pond.

LFADAM, well there are trees all along the edges of the pond so that makes it impossible to be pulled by the truck with a short rope. I was thinking that I might make the rope go around my trailer hitch instead of the tree, in case someone does show up. Then we couldnt be said to have destructed property. Im just not sure whether or not itl stay on the hitch or slide off. We're definatly going to put something on the tree, like a square of carpet or something so it doesnt tear it up. And there werent any "no trespassing" signs, but if there are we're outta there. We're gonna try to make this as legit as possible as ending up in jail doesnt sound too appealing at the moment...

| Oh ok, well then you should try the hitch or saran wrapping the tree, maybe even a skateboard tied to the tree with the wheels out, that way the rope could slide on the relatively slick bottom of the deck and the trucks would keep the rope from going off up or down

On second thought, Im already on a 30 day probational period, so if I get written up Im screwed!!! So, sorry to get your hopes up but this project will have to wait. Give me a month or so and you'll have some good footage. BUT, we dont get let down so easy and we're gonna take out his 16 foot john boat and goof around behind it some. At least we'll be getting our first rides of the season!!

| Go for it dog!! We do some similar "pond hopping" around here. It's farm ponds, so you have to use a 4 wheeler or a truck.....and watch out for the bulls! Get some footage!

You could put a pulley on the tree. It's called a snatch block...they sell them at TSC (tractor supply company). Home depot might have something similar. Also, you should try jumping out of the green pond, and into the dark one! Pimp.

Definitately use a pulley, don't just loop it around a tree. That's asking for either that rope to break, get shredded, or do some damage to the tree.

03Belmont, lucky. We tried to ride today. Well, get pulled by a truck for about 100 ft, but that didnt work too well and my feet didnt fit into this other dudes bindings. Anyways the water was still damn cold (like we expected it to be warm anways!?!). Its not so bad when you're out of it though haha.

| Hey. I've been a long time reader of this message board. I get lots of good information from yall and thought i would try and return the favor. Never had the desire to post but I felt I needed to help out in this situation because I dont want yall to run into the same problem I did. I was at those ponds last fall fishing and a sheriff stopped me and wrote me a citation for trespassing telling me that it was up to the owner, Mr. Stokely, whether or not to press the charges. It turns out for me that I was not so lucky because he pressed charges. It was quite an expensive mistake, so I would think twice if I were you.

Depends if you think that it's worth it. Life is made of decisions. Eat at your own risk.
