Ok so ive been busy scrubbing the piss out of my teak platform and rails. They came out good with some having various color differences. So a little wire brush cleans a bit deeper and works well. A little light sanding am im ready for the OIL>... Is teak oil all the same? Does anyone recomend any special brand? Is there any different colors i.e. deeper or softer stains? How many coats does the job? and do you take the time to make the bottom as nice as the top?

Hit that teak with a presure washer man, it will save you all kinds of time and you get a move uniform color. As far as the coats, the more the better. You will hit the law of deminishing returns after about 4 at which point the only thing your going to start doing is working the oil down into the scratches better, which is good but you could do that forever.

That was the other thing I wanted to ask. How much is to much presure. I have one i wash my dirt bike off with and one my parents do there deck with... Mine is like 1200 psi i think and theres is like 3500.... Is more better or with the teak being so soft will it score it.

Well honesty, I have only ever done Teak furniture with a pressure washer. I would gather that if you put to much pressure on any kind of wood your going to score it. Teak is pretty forgiving as you add oil, but your not going to want to put anything to close to that wood. When we did it we figured out what was the right distance and then duct taped a stick to it so we did not get to close. Worked like a charm.
