Free air sub mounting

I presently do not have room for mounting a sub in the drivers kick panel. I was wondering if anyone ever popped a hole in the wall at the walk through where the storage is behind the spotter, and mounted a sub there?

Youcan mount a sub anywhere there is room to mount one, however a free air subwoofer in a boat is useless IMO. A boat has no cabin = you need an enclosure to produce bass, without a box you will hear nothing or so little its not worth cutting the hole.

Any type of box you can build will make a huge difference, there is ALWAYS room for a sub and enclosure, even if the driver is a 6.5 or 8" woofer the results will be better then a free air woofer.

Just say no to free air...especially if you don't know the reasons for using a free-air, and why it will almost never work in a boat.
