owc is redoing their kicker that had the PVC pipes and are putting 3/4'' HDPE (a smooth flat surface) that's what they call it. i would think that what they r goin to use would be better b/c then the PVC can't break.

I got some 4 x 8 vinal sheets (for bathroom floors) at Lowe's. They have worked pretty good so far. The fins just leave marks on it.

i own an rv repair shop so i had some fiberglass material on hand. its called filon and its used on the sidewalls of rvs. i just built my kicker so i havent had a chance to test it out yet, but this stuff is prety tough. it can be purchased at any rv dealer or service facility, you can order it to the length you need and it comes in i think 96" or 102" widths. heres a pic of mine, i seamed it in the middle cause i didnt have enough of either color and i didnt want to lay out any more cash

i work at texas ski ranch and we used HDPE(at least that's what i think it's called) on our kicker. it's pretty much just like a thick layer (1/2 inch) of pvc. works great. i've also made a kicker and used pvc sheets i got from home depot and it worked fine.

I've seen kicker surfaces made from the stuff signs are made of. It's like corrugated plastic. You countersink a hole and screw it in. It's not the most professional stuff, but it gets the job done and isn't too expensive...
