Rusty has become the first to pull off a 1080 twice with a switch toeside version being hit today behind Chad Sharpe's Malibu VLX. There was no video, but Kris Burke shot a sequence of it. More details to follow...

RC, well yeah the canadian season is extremely short, thats why there are only a handful of really successful canadian riders. Chad and Rusty are just extremely talented and driven to succeed so they are able to progress in such a short amount of time. So much so that they are able to move to FL to ride year round... _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

To answer your question about riding time in Canada, it is quite short. I know over here in the West we get only 4 months, sometimes 5 if were lucky. For 2 of those months the water is quite cold and wetsuits are often a good idea. _________________ ~~ "Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life trying to save." ~~

Rusty Malinoski: Just did my 2nd 1080
Me: Hell yeah
RM: Im so happy
So, next time you go out and ride your wakeboard, do six 360's. Or maybe four 540's. Then stop and think that Rusty does all that in two turns across the wake.
Go Gators. |

Have you been living under a rock your whole life? It does get warm enough to ride in Canada during the summer. Rusty has been on the scene for a while as well. When you go and ride with the likes of Harf every freaking day probably twice a day only the sky is the limit. _________________ RIP DLS.

the season is short in Canada(hockey is king). We have thousands of beatiful lakes. we snow board in the winter. having a short season makes you go harder because you know the season is going to come to an end.
Rusty got very good up in Canada doing that going hard. once he got very good he moved to florida and got great. Very talented and motivated family that train hard. his brother is one of the top snowmobile snocross racers in the world.
i was in florida in early November and i could move there in a heartbeat. my problem i am Rusty's size just don't have his talent. Props to the people in florida there hospitality is great.
Keep it up Rusty! |

DEVON, it's just something that I saw on alliance wake.com that pertained to this event. ME = a person at alliance...not me. Never mind trying to explain this even further is just going to make me dumber. _________________ RIP DLS.

Well, I guess that blows the earlier theory here that all 1080's were pulled behind MC's.

Loppy, i was thinking the same thing. What up now? but nice work on Rustys part, and i recall him in an interview a year ago saying, "ill never be the man to land a 1080 due to my size, but i can deal with it" _________________ well, i did have over 800 posts.. formerly natman |
