I have not even picked up my new boat yet, but it looks like that Pylon would simply be in the way. With a tower, and almost exclusively wakeboarding activities, do we need that Pylon? Do you find yourselves and passengers banging their knees etc. into the Pylon?
This is on a 2004 Supra Launch 22 SSV, with the pylon right in the middle of the sun-deck.

yeah i wondered about that myself. Would you not want to keep it for towing other boats in emergencies? I see on the newer Malibus, they are flush with the sunpad, but can come up. _________________ Be an organ donor! My father is alive today because of kind souls that donate life... |

| I took mine out of my D-drive. Main reason is if im concerned with water in my beilge I can just remove the plug from the hole and make sure everything is working ok. This way I don't have to empty the lounges on both sides of the box. I had a pump quit with me last summer and I've just been paranoid about what kind of water level I have down there ever since. |

| No problem taking it out. Our demo driver does it with his Supras. Open the engine hatch and hook toward the middle of the back of the rear seat is. You will find the engine mounting brace made of aluminum. Your ski pylon is mounted into that. You can take a wrench and remove two bolts that hold the pylon in place and then slide the pylon out. You will have a little hole there but its actually a great spot to keep of a bottle of binding lube or a drink there. Let me know if you have any more questions. |
