New Platform

Right now Im running on a Dell D800 which isn't bad for a laptop at school, but its about had it. The video card is all shot and likes to skip when I play my movies or feedback on editing after Im done with it. Im going to keep it for all my school work and internet use but I want another platform for editing.

What are some specs that I should look for? I've been told to check out the new iMacs. Any other suggestions?

are you going to just get another laptop or a desktop?

you should keep ram in mind, as well as processing speed. im not too familiar with the graphics cards for laptops. i have a couple friends that both just got new apple computers (1 desktop and 1 laptop) and they love it.

Yeah I was using premiere and would have to switch if I go Apple but thats not the deciding factor right now.

Yeah Im gonna go with a desktop. Laptops just dont seem to have that extra in them where as a desktop does. What kind of numbers should I look for in Ram, process speed?
