After my first season I'm hooked,
I've decided to splash out and get my own equipment, instead of riding the clubs boards. I think having one consistent board will aid my progress.
I've no snowboarding or skateboarding back ground and am still a beginner.
I'm 5 10 and about 80 kgs which is about 175lbs.
I've looked around and come up with the following possibilites,
CWB Pure 140
CWB factor 136
Hyperlite Motive 140
Have my heart set on CWB Zeus bindings, but I know they are for riders above my level of experience.
Any advice would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks |

| How much are you trying spend? As for bindings I wouldn't say the Zeus are beyond your level as far as bindings go really its all what feels the most comfortable and its always good to spend a lil extra to get a nice pair of bindings. |

Thanks for the reply, I'll go up as high as $700 - 800 for both bindings and board. Unfortunately I can't find anywhere that'll do a package for either the pure or the factor with Zeus bindings, they all just have Torq.
Well I figure if I'm gonna spend cash, I might as well go all out and get the best, and from the reviews I've read Zues gets a big thumbs up time after time.
Oh I also forgot to say I'm also considering the Hyperlite Static 135 or 140.
So any advice on which board might suit me best?
Thanks again and Hello all I'm new here. |

Cheers
I think I'll go with the Pure 140 black and the Zeus bindings!
But if anyone else can give me any advice it would be greatly appriciated.
Foote thanks for the replies. |

If You buy from a store i think it will be out of your price range, I usually buy my boards of ebay to save $300. If you buy of the internet it will be slightly cheaper but you may have to pay postage. Foote seems to have done his research 4 ya! lol _________________

Thanks for the reply carver, I'd already researched and checked out the prices online, priced them at:
www.buywake.com
www.boardco.com
and
www.boardstop.com
They tend to be 320 for a black 140 pure and 330 for the Zeus'.
All of which are priced pretty evenly. I'm buying for a friend also so I've mailed the the guys above and asked about discounts for bulk buying and cost of postage etc. So far buywake are in the lead, rapid response and a friend has bought from them before so they've got a good reputation.
It's very hard to find cwb stuff on ebay never mind 06 Zeus'. imho
Thanks for the replies. |

n00b, Eric over at buywake is gnarly as hell. I am glad to hear of another CWB rider, and you will love your Zues bindings. I had a chance to ride the 05 Pure, and the board was pretty dope. One other thing I would invest in if you havent already is a zero stretch line, comfortable vest, and a good dvd to watch. Just tell eric what you have to spend and see what he can work with you on. _________________

Thanks for all of the replies.
I'm not from the US so I have no local board shop, which also means I can't demo boards / bindings.
Hence I have to really research what I buy. Which is why I've posted here.
I've been in contact with the guys from buywake, and I think they'll cut us a good deal. I mean, I'm also buying for a friend and possibly some of the guys in the club, so the order will be well in excess of $1k.
Just missed a 06 parks with bindings on ebay yesterday for $450
Got stuck in a meeting with a client and could not make a bid. Oh well.
Blake, I'm thinking of a Jet Pilot A-10, I have a vest but it's a bit bloated, a molded vest might be a better option.
What are you're thoughts? |

That is a good vest. Just whatever you think will fit you the best though. I like the Nevin series vests, but that is just me. I think you have a really solid plan, and I am glad that you are dealing with Buywake. _________________
