I just bought a new boat, and am very interested in trying wakeboarding out this season in New York.
My question is in regards to the boat. I did not have wakeboarding in mind when I bought the boat, so I do not have a Wakeboard Boat. I bought a 25 Foot I/O 1996 Crownline 250CR with a 7.4L 300 HP engine. I do not think speed would be an issue since the boat goes about 40MPH. I have read some stuff regarding small hole shots on I/O's. Also, I do not have a Wakeboard tower as of yet. Will this boat be good enough for a beginner? Do I need to purchase a tower now, or can I begin without one, and then get one later. I read something about people using ski poles instead. Any advice would be greatly apprecaited. Thx. |

| harrydnyc, A tower will not make you better, but it is wise to purchase one once you are an expirienced wakeboarder. That boat will be fine for you to learn on, and it's pretty biig and weightable too. I am familiar with the wake of that particular hull when weighted, and it is pretty decent. Enjoy. |

It'll work pulling off he back of the boat. I would not get a ski pole, but rather wait and get at tower when you feel the need for it. As Ctipping said it will not make you better...
