I want to add new fins to and old molded fin board so for my wife, Is there a way I can do this myself or do i need to take it somewhere to have it done proffesionally? Just a note, she probably will only ride it 3-4 times a season so it isnt that big of a deal.
kiwiintexas, that's an interesting proposition. I've never heard of anyone drilling holes through their wakeboard but it doesn't seem to me that it would cause much of a problem. If you don't seal the hole you will water-log your board.
What you would want to do is drill the hole larger than the screw hole, fill that hole good and tight with epoxy to seal the foam/fiberglass. Smooth out the top and the bottom and let it dry. Then drill your smaller hole (screw size) through the center of your epoxy. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone.
thanks for that, I kind of assumed that I would have to do something like that I was throwing it out there to see if anyone had hints (such as yours) and come to think of it, if inserts are available to buy.
