The label says not to touch a running motor. I'm installing two motors under my back seat. How hot is hot?! Any experience with motor temp?!

I dunno about other people, but I am alittle confused...I think you need to give people a little bit more info.

There is a label on the motor. It is a disclaimer, saying "Motors run hot. Do not touch..."

He's installing 2 Simer reversible pumps under the rear seat of his boat to power a ballast system and he's worried that they might get too hot for a confined area if there are labels on the pumps themselves that warn not to touch them while being used.

Doug, I think you're okay. I doubt the pumps get hot enough to radiate the heat to surrounding objects. Just make sure the housings have some clearence all around them so they aren't conducting the heat (and make sure it's in an area where the heat can't pose a potential fire hazard).

I had one in the rear part of the engine compartment in my prostar, worked very good, never checked the temp under use. We are adding one more this summer I agree with skicrave you should be fine if you allow as much clearance as possible.
