Are new boat deals usually better at boat shows or at the end of the season when the next model year is coming out? I'm trying to decide whether to buy now, or wait until the end of the summer.

Just to give you a dealer's point of view, my pricing starts out VERY well at the boat shows. This pricing is good because of special boat show incentives or whatever, plus just wanting to get a few sales started for the year. After show, prices will go up, but still have room to deal. Towards the end of the season, prices will start going down, about to the level of what they were at boat show, just to move them for the new models coming. So what I"m saying, boat show deals and end of the season deals for me are priced very close to each other.

To me, you are better off buying at show, mainly because you have the new model boat to use for that summer. If you wait to buy towards the end of the season, yeah you will have a new boat for next summer but its last year's model. If you don't mind a last year's model, try to find a new 05 at the 06 boat shows. You will find smoking deals. I know I have a few. $30k for a Mobius: 325 hp, tower, stereo, cover, board racks, ballast, perfect pass, wakeplate, bimini, and single axle trailer with swing-away tongue.
