In '04 they went with the thicker composite baseplate and sparkly overlays. In '05 they went with a white overlay and rounded ankle support (instead of flat like all of the previous ultras).
Both are a great improvement. The '04s are good but the '05s will be a little more comfortable and hold tighter. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

the only noticeable difference is starting in 05, most of their bindings had precurved toe/heel pieces. they were ready for a comfortable fit right out of the box. my transits have the precurved tongue, and they are insanely comfortable/easy to enter&exit. Im sure this wont be a huge difference, as most LF bindings will conform to your foot within a few days on the lake. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002

| i highly recomend the 05 ultras, have a pair myself and love them..most comfortable boots ive ever owned and they molded to my foot after the second set..very easy to slide in/out,they have a gel-pad in the heel for soft heel cushion on impacts,i'd go with the 05's |
