...so we're headed to Maui tomorrow. It's my second time and we are totally stoked. I plan to surf as much as I can, hopefully watch a swell at Peahi and see the tow in surfers (watched a huge swell last time I was there; it's in a bunch of videos like Odyssey), hang out and relax, maybe take in a Luau.

Wondering who else has been there and knows if there is anything cool to take a toddler to see? And what else should we go and do?

We did the Road to Hanna, snorkled Molokini, Haleakala, Surfed a ton, and hung out last time. But that was before the kiddo. What else is there?

Ho-Ki-Pa (on the road to Hana, not too far into it) has incredible windsurfing, you can see some of the best boarders in the world

Hookipa also has the best consistant surf on the island. Hit that in the morning before the tradewinds kick up.

I like Honoloa Bay. That's where I spent much of my time last time. Nice head high fast peelers. Hookipa was always blown out. Fun to watch the wnds surfers, though.

Thanks J-Ro, I'm not sure I want to get into it with the locals, though. You do mean surf spots, right? Or do you mean just stuff to do?

mostly fun stuff....secluded snorkeling, restaraunts, Captain Cooks Estate, the backside of Hana (Past where you are supposed to turn around), the time to be at Haleakula, etc.

My girlfriend and I just got back from Maui about a month ago, we stayed on Ka'anapali beach at the Whaler, was my first time going, was insane and a nice getaway.

We did alot of the touristy things just cause, but the best thing we did was the helicopter ride out to molokai, and the Trinity snorkal/beach catamaran.

10 days was definately not enough, i want to go back!

Well. We came back from Maui nice and refreshed. Had loads of fun, but didn't make it to all the things I would have liked, such as kiteing, but I was able to surf quite a bit and spend time with my wife and daughter, so I was happy.

Here's some photos from various activities.

Jaws (Peahi) was breaking again. It was pretty choppy by the time we hiked all the way out there and a few skis had gone up one the rocks, so we didn't see much riding and I got pictures of nothing but the wave, unfortunately.

oshensurfer, Peahi is nuts... I'd love to get into the line up at Honoloua Bay. That looks killer.

oshensurfer, looks awesome. How expensive is a trip to Hawaii? I've been thinking about going for years, but I am not a person that makes serious jack.

It is killer. Fastest wave I've ever surfed. Those pics are from a 150' cliff and they make that wave look smaller than it is. That wave face is overhead.

earlcombearl, Maui is expensive. You can get to Oahu for cheap and stay in a hole for 5 days for probably under $1500. But you can find really good deals, you just have to look.
