| do yourself a favor, and go pick up any old school wake video....then you will have your answer on what can be done behind your boat. |

I have a 19 ft I/O, and before I got my tower.. I had a guy introduce me to wakeboarding. He was pulling tantrums, backrolls, 360's, etc.. with no ballast, etc.
It really just depends on skill, how you can get your wake, your abilities.. etc.
I would not even worry about it.. just go out and try.
That will tell you what you can and can't do... not some message board. _________________ Be an organ donor! My father is alive today because of kind souls that donate life... |

ramseyglastron, You should be able to get inverts and spins down. But it partly it depends on your skill level and the skill level of others going with you. If you're not going wake to wake yet and don't ride with anyone that does it will likely (barring you're a natural) be hard to progress quickly. Also as much as I love my 03 Parks, again, depending on your skill level it may not be the best board for you.
My .02 look around on here and Wakeworld in the "find a pull" sections. Offer to pay gas money and see if you can't get behind some boats with better wakes and towers/pylons and with people that won't mind teaching you a thing or to. |

if you can't throw anything, why are you worried about it? everyone in this sport is so obsessed with their goddamn image. go out, throw your stuff, and have fun. last i checked, you could have fun behind an i/o. |

i would say though, that you have a beginner boat, and asking about tricks, yet you have an expert level board. you might try a less aggressive board if you are looking into beginner based tricks.
and get used to the flaming. dont take it the wrong way, they are only letters on a page. sit back and laugh. _________________ Can't we all get along? |

go buy a ski pole and put it in the boat. It will get the rope off the water and pulll you up more on your jumps. _________________ Why must i impress everyone? |

Go buy Mayday and watch guys on flight 69's with no tower and stretchy ropes with no fatsacs go 30 ft into the flats. Or Spray, and watch guys on directional boards with sandal bindings doing incredible crap that 99% of wakeboarders on this or any site can't do. Me included:0 The boat and the wake and the equipment is not holding you back. _________________ Silver Skurfer |

ScarecrowTrey, a pole and/or tower will do nothing of the sort.
ramseyglastron, If you want to throw down with you boat, you should look into a skate. I am not advising you get wakeboarding altogether, not in the least. You also cant buy a Parks board, and expect to solve all the problems with a less then par wake as well. Just a pure guess on my part, but I believe that another board would have suited you a tad better. Before you go adding towers and pylons, you should look into either weighting the boat down with around 500 lbs distributed from the bow to the ski locker to begin with if you just have to start throwing down harder inverts. However, I can throw a kryp off of my Sea Ray unweighted, so nothing is impossible. You should look into picking up a skate though to play around on too. You may also look into buy a decent rope and handle combo. This is usally over looked as well.
STPHNSN23, I couldnt agree more. However, I figured you would know that a non USCGA vest looks so much better then your typical run of the mill jacket that floats
.King of the Tigers, Why would you look for pulls when he owns a boat? There are plenty of college kids that rip hardcore and dont have access to a boat while they are away with school. However, I dont like going out on other peoples boats though.
K-dub, he might learn that he doesnt need a 3 stage rocker as well.

blak, a tower will do more than ballast anyday. What good is a big wake if you still get pulled down, which will only become more of a problem with a bigger wake. _________________ Get Paid To Play Online Poker For Free! |

Here we go again...
Now for everyone on here that refuses to search, I'm gonna put it really big. A TOWER WILL NOT GIVE YOU MORE HEIGHT!!! IT WILL ONLY GIVE YOU MORE HANGTIME!!!
Now then, as I stated in giant letters, you wont get any higher. A good wake will do more than a tower any day. Hands down. If you don't believe me, what will get you higher, the low tow point on a SAN, or an o/b with a tower? A low point WILL NOT pull a beginner down at all. Until you're getting5-6ft of air off the wake consistantly you wont be able to feel any difference.
It is pretty rare that Blake and I agree on anything so when we do, you know it's big. Basicly what I'm saying is STFU and listen.

Deuche bag, have you ever ridden anything except a HYPErlite? Peopl like you are nothing if not predictable; that's how Tyler~moore, andrewt, and I all knew you had a Parks. F*cking pro-sluts, I could paint parks on a 2x4 and you'd ride it til the end. However, there are those few people who demo'ed a Parks and loved it, so they bought it. To them, I commend you and please disregard the previous part of my post.

my first board was a motive. i rode a parks and liked it so i got one.
i am not a new wakeboarder, i have been at this for a year. i just want to step it up. i didnt get the parks because it was the parks. i got it cause i liked it. now, why jump to conclusions when you have no clue as to what you are talking about. _________________ Leges |

just one gawd darn min...
youve been riding for a year and never tried an invert?????
wow.....
uhm ... can i ask why? TOO SCARED? i mean seems like you would wantto show off your new board and last i checked all the girl loved seeing you go upside down...
of course most girls dont realize that most basic inverts are simpler than spins
o well enjoy ....
but on a more serious note... you should easily be able to land a backroll tantrum maybe even a scarecrow (assuming in the last year you have attempted to TS jump).... _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/member/PimpinD |

PimpinD, riding for a year doesnt mean he rides every weekend. he could have started last year, and only made it out once a month. which is hardly time to start trying inverts.

i tried a backroll once, and just got sideways and sprained my ankle.
i try a 360 every time i go out, i dont usually get the handle, but when i do i slide out.
which is one of the reasons i got the parks, cause it is suposed to help with sliding out.
but im not getting enough air anyway. _________________ Leges |

ramseyglastron, if you arent getting enough air from that board then the problem certainly is with you... Not your wake. With a mellow wake, the board in which you ride will pop you a tad higher than a board with continous rocker. With your wake you have now, a continous rocker board would allow you to get more speed (typically), and would throw you out into the flats. I dont want to go into great detail about the differences between the different board designs though. I am just going to state that the problem is more with you at the moment rather than your wake. But, I still claim you are on the wrong board based upon either your skill level, riding style, or both. Dont be discouraged though, becaue it will all click one day. Again, look into maybe purchasing an education video at some point and time, and then start with fat sacs. However, I wouldnt worry about the sacs until you progress far enough to throw a 36 hs, and a 18 hs switch... This is just some information we pass on to our students who are just starting out in situations identical to that of yours. Bottom line though, enjoy it out there. You dont want to get to hung up on how you look (image), or what tricks you can throw man, otherwise you will burn out. _________________
