|
|
I think I'm ready to get some new skis. I can get a really good deal on some 06' Fujatives, and I can't demo any until atleast nov. 23rd.
So, has anyone here ridden em? Were they soft/stiff? Compareable to any other skis you've ridden?
I'm coming from some old BC's. They are pretty soft, I absolutly love the feel. Hopefully the Fujatives will be similar.
I've also ridden Solomon Pocket Rockets and 1080's. I ABSOLUTLY HATED them. I don't know what it was. It wasn't the day/snow either, I rode them on afew occasions, and I couldn't get the feel. I hope the Fugatives are not like this.
Anyway, just let me know if you've got an opinion on them. |

Maybe able to get a solid answer on TGR's site. I know a lot of hardcore skiers that hang out there. http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/ |

They are a good cheap park ski, but they are super soft. If you are looking for a good all around ski I personally ride line chronics and love em. The public enemys are a damn good do it all ski too. There are so many good skis out there now it is ridiculous. If you are looking for a jib/park only ski then the fujees would be fine, however if you are wanting to ride pow or just haul ass I would not reccomend them. _________________ I once saw a fork lift pick up a pallet of forks, it was way too literal for me. |

Yeah they definatly aren't my first choice, its just I can get them at a really good price. If I could have my way, I'd probably just get another set of scratch's and centermount them. Buuuut, money has priority.
Jay Dutton, I'll check out that site, thanks. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

Are you going out of the park? Makes a huge difference..... The Fuji's are too soft for me. The PE's are usually pretty cheap and have a little bit wider waist I think. Check out 4frnts and Armada's too. _________________ - "Hurry up and finish your wine so we can go get us some milkshakes " - |

Laugh Damon, I know about the $$$, I always buy my gear a year or two old. I have a pair of Scratch FS that I still ride on here in the midwest, I think this will be their 3rd season. Good pair of sticks. I tell you what though, see if you can find some 4frnts, I have the 1st generation of MSP's and I love 'em. _________________ - "Hurry up and finish your wine so we can go get us some milkshakes " - |

Well.....
4frnt MSP 180 122-92-108 with a 25 M radius
4frnt STL 177 112-82-104 with a 22.5 M radius
Rossinol Scratch FS 116-84-109
Rossinol Scratch BC 128-98-121
For me they are totally different skis to ride on with way different construction. Here in the Midwest I ride the Rossi's. A fun ski that can carve, the swing weight isn't too bad, and it has held up well to abuse. The 4frnt is stiff. Plus, a bigger turning radius, much better big mtn ski. I have taken them from VT to CA and they have been great, you just have to stay on top of 'em. They are great in Pow and they can blast through sunbake and spring corn. I haven't spent much time in the park with them so I don't know about sliders but I feel comfortable throwing 3's and riding switch. They have a beefy edge with ptex sidewalls and an all wood core. The scratch is a hybrid core.
So there, a little write up... I have not been on the STL's. I do know that the BC was changed up for this year and is a bit stiffer. Not as stiff as a 4frnt but more nutz than in the past. Once again, if you are looking for a one stick quiver, put some thought into where you ride. Good luck. Check out Newschoolers.com and Tetongravity.com if you are thinking about picking up some used gear. _________________ - "Hurry up and finish your wine so we can go get us some milkshakes " - |

Yeah I heard the BC's (not sprayers) are absolutly sick this year...
I need to get to a mountain ASAP
Thanks for your input though.. as for where I ride, its the PacNW, we don't have too many sick powder days, and if there is, it's usually pretty heavy.
My BC's have been holdin up like a champ too, this will be their 4th season.. I'm don't exactly baby my equip. either... haha _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

Might wanna check out http://www.priorsnowboards.com/index.php they started making skis and the quality is WAY better than what you'll find from your local ski shops quad axle fiberglass. Double layered (if requested) If you know what you like and how you want it built they will custom make your stix. Pretty badass. |

Yeah I'm on newschoolers too, but I dunno if I can trust that site as much as this one... seems like more teenagers who just wanna make fun of eachother more then anything.
I just stay in the local forums, make sure I know whats going down locally. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

yeah, prior makes some sick stuff - www.priorskis.com - although their site isn't working at the moment. They look like bomber skis, I checked 'em out last year in Kicking Horse although they do cost a bit of $$. Checked out the new Scratch FS and BC last night at a local shop, look pretty good. It looked to me like they beefed up the FS as well, perhaps something to consider. Keep your BC's for the pow pow and snag the FS as an everyday ski. _________________ - "Hurry up and finish your wine so we can go get us some milkshakes " - |

looks like gotama beat me to it. Prior product absolutely kills it, not only that but they stand behind thier product. I broke 6 sticks last year and had to go for the Prior this year. I've got a few buddies that ride harder than me and swear by them. So I went and got the introduction to Chris, and got a special blend. If you are interested in picking one up let me know, I can prolly score you a deal |
