hey, i just started wakeboarding like last year, i got a board that has three fins on one end of the board, like in a triangle type arrangement, i'm wondering if that's gonna make it a lot harder to do surface 180s or ride switch, and if so, is there a way i could modify the board to make it easier, or could you just recommend a board (preferrably fairly cheap) that would make it easier? Also, I've got an athletic build, i play a lot of football and lift a lot, which has put my weight up near 230, what's a good speed for that size? _________________ anything worth doing is worth doing well |

do you know what board it is and what sixe the fins are? if they are smaller than an inch surface tricks shuldnt be any harder but if the fins are real big you may have problems. you could always take a couple fins off if you wanted. its not so much speed for the weight its more board size if you go around 18 mph you shuld be fine. |

im bettin you have one of the older styled boards that are "directional" in other words they look like a miniture surf board. Sorry but these are incredibly hard to do it with, my advice would be to save some cash while learning the basics on that board and get yourself a decent board and bindings. I learned on the same kinda stuff now that i have a newer styled board and i ride on that one i dont see how i did it lol |
