My friend and I were in his garage attic the other day and we came across and old Liquid Force kids board. I was thinking I should get it from him ($10-$20) and then put like grip tape on the top or maybe hydro turf or something. I just want to know if anyone has tried. Also if I get grip tape do you think I could just take it to a skate shop? I bet the guys there would be looking at my like wtf... I know it wont be like a good wakeskate but I'm just looking for a cheap thrill that I can use in ponds with our winch.

Rainther45, that's how wakeskating got started... check out the Jason Messer articles over at wakeskating.com, so you can learn more about it.

Wouldn't be the best board in the world, probably would want to cut it down some, to make it a little shorter, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun. As for the grip tape, you can just buy some at a skate shop, (just ask for enough to cover 2-3 skateboard decks,) and you can do it yourself. It's not that tough to do, just apply it and cut the edges with a razorblade. (you can watch Leif Erkilla do it on http://www.kampuswakesk8.com)

But in all actuality, I would just buy a flat deck for like 60-80$ like a kampus or a cassette, you can check ebay for that sort of stuff... they will work better than a chopped down wakeboard. Let us know what you end up doing though Very Happy
