Great boat that can put out a pretty solid wake with the proper setup.
Don't worry about the motor the boat is almost 16 years old now 800/16= 50 hours per year. This past year I put about 150 on the SAN. IMO I would rather own a 1990 with 800 hours then a 1990 with 250 hours. (All other things the same.) Motors that sit for many years unused will be more problem prone. Engines need to run to stay in shape per say. Maintenance of course is what matters most however. How has the boat been taken care of? Oil changed every season or every 50 hours? A well maintained inboard motor can easily run into 1,500-2,000 hours before it needs any major work. _________________ wakeboards

Yup yup, my buddy bought a 1989 MC 190 with 1200 hours on it, runs like a champ.
Besides the compression check might be worth while to get a carb tune up on it, do you know the last time the boat had a tune up? _________________ www.midwestmastercraft.com

| I use to have a tristar 190. I sold it this spring with 950 hours on it and it ran great. If it has the 351W in it you shouldn't have a problem putting 2500 hours on it if it is properly maintained. If you buy the boat and have questions regarding weighting it let me know. Plan on at least 2000lbs for a good wake. I loved the wake on my boat. I got rid of it for a v-drive. Overall I like the boat a lot. |

Hey lf18,
You may want to consider the electronic ignition upgrade (some folks don't like to adjust points) if it hasn't been done already - costs about $100...
Check your stuffing box, maybe a new battery
Good luck

I'm the one that bought the boat snowboardcorey is talking about. It ran great all summer. Just add a couple fat sacs and a fly high or tower and you've got yourself a solid wakeboard boat without breaking the bank. _________________ Why Vegan? |
