For purchasing and bending tube and maybe even welding it you should go to your local high school or technical collages metal fab department and talk to them. Usually there so eager to learn they may even build the whole thing for you, or atleast help you bend the tube. And the best part, they cant charge you, thats right its FREE.
Now for tubing ends and heim joints i got my things from jegs.com, a performance autoparts mailoder place. There made out of stainless so they wont rust or corrode. Also there made to hold up to the rigors of 1000 hp dragcars so there plenty strong. And at less than $8 a piece you cant beat them.
Also i made mine out of steel and just had it rhino lined smooth. Cost me less than $50 and is strong as anything could be. It can also be touched up if anything was to happen. _________________ Ehhhh, you know how i throw it down! |

2 1/2" steel. It was cheap and easy to weld since i only have a mig welder. I dont know the tubing thickness but since i wasnt concerned with weight i got some pretty heavy duty tube. I know what your gonna say "what about rust" Well i primed it with a good automotive epoxy primer and then put about a 1/4" thick coat of smooth rhino lining on it. The thing was hella strong. _________________ Ehhhh, you know how i throw it down! |
