I have a 04 Moomba Mobius XLV, I love it. It has a pretty fat wake with the 3 ballast bags we have. If your wondering the reason why moombas are a little cheaper than the other wake specific boats is mainly due to detail and fancy interior options but performance wise it has a lot of bang for its buck.
What else do you need to know?

I have had pulls from the XLV and the LSV. The wake on the XLV was awesome with 3 people and standard ballast. It must be really great with the upgrade.
I enjoyed the LSV as well. Had we not gotten the deal we did on our x-star, I was most likely going to buy an LSV. It was a good boat for a good price.
The Supras are just plain incredible. I have never seen a bad wake behind one.

The Supras are amazing, if they are good enough to pull some of the best riders in the world at the Gravity Games h2o, they have got to be a decent piece of kit.

| I'm looking to purchase a wake boat but don't have much experience. I've looked at some Malibus but ultimately have been checking out the Moombas and the Supras. I want something that is going to be good to last me a while until I need an upgrade? Am I headed in the right direciton looking at the Moombas and Supras? What kinds of features can I not live with out? Thanks friends!

Fast,
I responded to your PM but I'll add some stuff on here as well. Here are some things you might want to consider adding to a Moomba. Supras come standard with most.
Hydraulic wakeplate, EFI upgrade with EZ cruise, 3 bag ballast, depth finder if you are not familiar with the lake, cover to keep the dirt out, board racks if you need the extra storage, stereo if you want tunes. If you want much more than that, I would probably start looking at the Supras over the Moombas. Once you add so many options to the Moombas (depends on which model), you can get up to the Supra price.

I like my 05 Moomba LSV - 92 hours, my issues have been minimal. A great boat for the money.

| I ride behind a Mobius LSV alot... very nice boat, easy to drive, doesnt cost as much as other boats but to have a nice wake you really need to add lots of extra ballast or it doesnt have much of a kick...

| i have owned 1 moomba & now am on my third supra. the moombas are great boats for the money. you cant go wrong with one. the supras have more bells & whistles. kind of like lexus & toyota. i currently own a 05 supra 21v. compared to the 00 outback, 03 launch ss, & 04 ssv, it is the best fit for me. the wake is incredible & shoots you straight up in the air. the fit and finish is top notch. i'm constantly getting compliments on it. i chose the same color scheme as NAW did. you can look up his profile for a pic. skiers choice makes an awesome product & really stands behind it. you cant go wrong with any of their boats. just pick the one that fits you best. good luck with your decision!

Fast, I have had nothing but good times m/ my Moomba. I have the 2002 Outback LSV, which has been converted for wakeboarding. Same hull as the Mobius LSV. I agree w/Jon, on the options. Unless pricing has changed much, you will nicely epuip a Moomba LSV for about what it costs for a direct drive Supra Launch, which are great wake machines also.
The Supras have killer wakes, especially when you add the Gravity Games bags. They also have a ton of standard features that are options on the Moomba. Tough choices. I like the seating of the v-drive over the dd. That weighed in on my decision, or I might have bought a Launch instead.
I run about 1500lbs of ballast in my LSV, and the wake is fine. Here's a pic. The conditions weren't the best. The guy riding is 5'10"

my XLV was like 40 thousand fully loaded with perfect pass, transom stereo, stadium seating, 3 bag ballast system, depth finder, and board racks. I don't know how much Supras run but thats how much we threw down for our XLV seemed like a pretty good deal.

You will never NEED an upgrade from any of these boats they all throw out good wakes that you will never really outgrow. Good Boat does not = good rider

| Bought a new Supra launch 22SSV this year and couldn't be happier with it. I love the adjustable wake plate which alters the wake from steeper to flatter. My friend bought a new Malibu VLX last year and we both prefer wakeboarding behind the supra. Not to mention there aren't a billion of them up at the lake like the malibu's and master crafts. Best looking boat, killer wake, awesome finish and more unique and a bit cheaper than Malibu's and mastercrafts. What else could you want?

Fast, one of the options you should get is perfect pass.
It really makes a difference.
1. You will have a steady speed, so the wake will keep its shape, and all of your approaches will be consistant.
2. The driver can focus on stayin in a straight line and looking for good water instead of playing with the throttle.
3. almost anyone can drive for you. It always sucks to ride behind a novice driver whose speed is all over the place.

way to waste bandwidth dumb stuff....
to the thread starter... i just got an 05 lsv, and my parents didn twant anything past stock ballast and a wakeplate, so with 1 bag and about 3 people in the boat, you get a big kick... the more people you bring then the wake just gets bigger and bigger.. its insane!

The launch ssv is the best boat I have ever ridden. And I have ridden behind almost everything including super airs, x stars, and wakesetters

I had a 2001/2002 Moomba Mobius for 2.5 seasons. Little to no complaints, solid solid boat. For what we paid for it, awesome. It was a great introduction to the Skeirs Choice family. This past season we upgraded to a 2005 Supra 21V. Not a complaint and every little performance quip I might of had with the moomba was met if not exceeded in the Supra. In one word...AMAZING. You can't go wrong with either, for a little more refinement Supra...for the budget/bang for your buck Moomba.
Good luck with your decision.

I'd give my opinion, but it's super biased and everybody knows it already!
I really like the skier's choice product. Styling, performance, wake, bang for the buck, etc, etc all top notch.
Get out and drive/ride one at your local dealer.

I just got the 24SSV and the wake always seems to wash out on the other side until I am pulling on the tower in that direction. Is there a way to get rid of this? I am always landing in white wash!

Other than that and a minor throttle problem I had the boat is everything I want in a boat and more. WAY more boat for the money than any of the "Big Three". WAY More.

gene3x, you probably dont have the boat weighted evenly from right to left.

wtbamoomba, oh I'm sorry... I just took your bandwidth for granted.. I guess its easy to do in a day and age where a fast network is measured in double digit Gbs..
so, since I've already nuked the modem in your mom's AOL dialup.. this gif's for you!
