The board is not too small for you. Those are just recommendations. If it feels like a good size, then that is all that matters. I'm 6'2" and 195 lbs and I ride a Balance 135.

I am 6' 170#'s and I used to ride shorter boards. But I allways noticed that a lot of pro's that are a lot smaller than me ride bigger boards. This year I moved up to a 142 and now I think bigger is better. Seems like the landings are a little softer. And I don't notice the extra length on spins like I thought i would, but I am not pullin 720's either. The transition wasn't that noticeable untill I tried riding the shorter board again. Now I will never go back.

I too ride the Absolute, mines a 135 2006 and I weigh 150 pounds. It is a short board but I feel that is the perfect size for me. I've ridden 138s and didn't like them as well as shorter boards. It all comes to preference and what you feel comfortable with. I like a having a small deck and the light weight of my Platinum core. I really like how it kicks off the wake. You will start to lose pop when you've killed the core. Wakeboards will lose their pop after a ton of use. That is all.
