Ok call me crazy, but 3200 pounds of ballast sound like overkill to me. On top of that the boat is 4,000 pounds. Is 375 hp going to be enough to push around 7200 pounds plus another 1000- 1500 pounds of people and gear?

sstojak, Bowen rode in one a couple weeks ago and said the boat handled well and the wake was awesome!

Overkill? People are filling their tanks and then adding fat sacs all over the boat. That seems just right. And a 65 gallon gas tank?? whoa, that's another 350 pounds of balast right there when it's full. Seems like they are making it specifically for wakebaording, adding all the goodies that people add aftermarket.
Looks to me like they have a good thing going, and it should catch on quickly. It's a beefy looking boat, too!

I love the way it looks, so clean and functional rather than flashy and gimmicky like some of the other wakeboats

chipsevila, it has been made 100% for wakeboarding. Every little thing you can think of as a rider has been taken care of. The transom audio is increadible, it blows every set of tower speakers I've ever heard out of the water, AND it doesn't blast the driver and other boat crew in the boat.
Chris Anthony, a really great guy w/ a love for the sport, designed and built this boat by himself in his garage. He designed it for the rider and the driver.
The wake was NICE, I won't say it was awesome, but thats because I was riding it in mission bay...which if anyone knows is roughly 6-8 feet deep and salt water...two factors that make the wake a ton smaller. Chris has garunteed me a ride in fresh water behind a production boat (they just started production two weeks ago), and as soon as I ride behind it in more optimal conditions I'll report back. The boat itself is awesome IMO. It looks like a beast but it doesn't handle like one.
Wakebrad, thanks.

Stupid question, but if it has an "integrated stringer/ballast liner", did they pay Calabria to use the system?
Hopefully so, because it definitely has serious potential, and I would hate to see them end up in that kind of dogfight.
Looks sick. A buddy of mine was tinkering with a aft mounted speaker design not too long ago, not quite at this level but a similar concept. Makes all too much sense, but I think that it will be a hard push to get the wallys to buy as the "bling" factor is not present.
Then again, it wasn't designed with the wallys in mind anyhow....

chavez, Yes I believe they have. When I went out with him we were talking about all the patents and things he worked around or accepted. I told him to patent transom audio, then we started talking about how calabria has the patent for under floor ballast....
And he isn't offering much in the way of options because he wants to keep the cost as low as possible. But I gave him my .02 on it and he took it and used it...now I'll have to figure out how to get my royalties check

theonlynamenotusedalready, The speakers that are equivalent to tower speakers are built into the back of the boat, right above the deck, otherwise known as the transom. Instead of having the speakers above the passengers blasting their ears, the speakers are behind everyone and blasting to the rider. I haven't seen it or heard it, but from what I've heard it sounds like a good idea.

Wont the water hit that part of the boat when stopping? What is stoping the water from hitting the speakers, the mesh?

AirProfile, the price difference in a 60k boat is in the name and all the chrome stuff. i dont even need seats or upholestry(sp?) in my boat i just want a kickass wake for as little $ as possible and it sounds like that might be the market theyre going for.
Centrider, i think they might have thought of that

I know but I still don't see how they could prevent it. You'd have to be drenching your speakers every time you slow down, that can't be good.
Also why do they come standard closed cooled? Seems like a hassle for us freshwater only riders.

closed cooled is an awesom eidea no more worring abou tflushing your system after sal water use and such Seadoo does it on there wake model and I was wondering how long before that became the norm on wake boats as well. . I did some research and I gott abe honest I like this more than any 06 boat coming out this year, I think this guys really got his head in the right place

I sure they ahve, but im still wondering how they around that. I mean if it closed off, then sound would not get thru it, now, it have mesh and water goes thru mesh. How would they have gotten thru it? Im just really wondering about this now.

Ya im sure water cant get through but how if it is not sealed. When he comes to seattle i call first up. LOL. Damn that boat is sick. He has heart for wakeboarding and I respect him greatly for that. I think that the EPIC will take off within a few years. He has made a sick boat for wakeboarding and people will like that. Mad props Chris. I know you will succeed and do a great job. Well you better because im buying one.
