| IF YOU SAND IT WITH 1000 GRIT SANDPAPER IT WILL LOOK BRAND NEW. YOU HAVE TO SAND IT FIRST,THEN USE A CLEANER WAX WITH A HIGH RPM BUFFER, THEN WAX IT WITH 3M WAX. I JUST DID MINE AND IT LOOKS BRAND NEW. BE PREPARED FOR A LOT OF WORK, BUT IT'S WORTH IT! |

I have been sanding the piss out my boat the last couple of days. The boat was covered with a chalk like substance. Ive been sanding with 1500 wet sand and its coming back. Next like stated above is to hit with some compound and high speed buffer, then glaze it up. After this teadous restoration, all ill need to do is wash and wax every year. _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/member/Steelerguy

Steelerguy,
Nice to see you found the new site. Been on the river yet? They are putting the docks in mid may at my marina. Gonna be out then for sure. _________________ Go Boat! |

1000 grit,1500 grit?Seems like a 2000 grit would be safer.I had a dark colored hull and deck and would spend all day with a cleaner and color restorer(Meguiars) and 60 minutes after the boat was in the water the hull and deck looked like they did before i tried to restore the color and remove the oxidation. _________________ "Go ahead and marinate on that for a minute" |
