|

I'm primarily a freerider, but the last few seasons I've been honing my park skills. Now it has come time for me to get a freestyle board, my freeriding board is too stiff for the park. Who makes good freestyle boards? GNU, Lib Tech, Forum????

I'm a big fan of Ride. Check the DH or DFC/DH. Sweet Freestyle board, true twin-tip, quadratic edge cut, 25% thicker cleave edge for rails. |

I really really like my Never Sumer Evo. It's really nice and snappy in the park... _________________ wakeboards

The Jordan Mendahall or the Mirror from option are awesome boards. Or event the Rome Agent or the capita stair master are good price point freestyle boards. _________________ "Life is a funny thing right when you think you have got a hold of it, it bucks off of a double up funny and break two ribs when you bounce off the bottom of the 4ft deep private lake"

xxMetalheaDxx, post up on the top 10 boards man! I am wanting a freestyle board too, and there are sooo many out there. I am going to a couple of dealers on Friday to see if they will let me strap into a couple boards and flex them a bit. I am bringing my old board along to compare. I will be looking at Rossignal, Salomon, Burton ( the Blunt and Dominant caught my eye), and whatever else they offer. _________________

Between the dominant and the blunt go with the dominant. It has a better flex pattern and is constructed way better for the money. It is only like 50 bucks more. _________________ "Life is a funny thing right when you think you have got a hold of it, it bucks off of a double up funny and break two ribs when you bounce off the bottom of the 4ft deep private lake"

not in the top ten according to mags, but here is a few boards to look at for freestyle. haven't tried a whole lot of different boards myself, but something to look into and check out specs as far as edge, shape, etc. could also look for last seasons in some of these models and get a better deal.
Burton-Dominant $379
Shaun White $499
Forum-Destoyer $400
K2-WWW $329
Nitro-MFM $399
Punisher $399
Atomic-Hatchet $299
Axum-$399
LibTech-TRS Mag $529
Rome-Anthem $470
Santa Cruz-TT Pro $499
Never Summer-Evo $489
SL $489
Gnu-High Beam $319
Danny Kass $489
Ride-LeBlanc Pro $500
Prophet $550
some are more high end boards, others are more "bang for you buck". tons of others to look at tho. cuz some of these prices are lol |

Sorry about hi-jacking your thread JohnD, but there's more info coming in on your thread than on the one I posted.
Thanks luonthesnake, juiced4ever, for the help. _________________

If you want something special (read: you won't find it on sale) check out Glissade. Hand made boards (in San Fran. much like Never Summer) that are incredible. Not only that if you want to put up some coin they will make a custom board to your specifications.

jryoung, those Glissades are sweet. Pretty cool that you can design a custom thru them.
I looked at one store last night. He had no freestyle boards left from last year and nothing new until next week. He is getting an Atomic Hatchet in though. I may check it out if I don't find anything today.
anarchy99, sounds like it could be down to graphics with all those choices If all those are pretty good boards, then how would you choose? _________________

i here that the agent is a super sweet board, along with the unorthidox swallow tip, but if it was up to me and i was getting some new boards, i would probably get a 151 dominant for rails, stepchild simon chamberlain 153, capita unorthidox 158, and lib tech magne trac travis rice double headed donkey in like 160+ _________________ philocify for life- SAY FUNK IT AND HUCK IT |

I will probably go for the Dominant tomorrow. It will be 154cm. The store also has a Forum (can't remember if its a Walker or a Walsh) for about 300$. It is last years model. Also a Ride LeBlanc model in my size. Don't remember the price on that one, or what year. Last one is a Dominant 150 from last year. I liked the price, but I'm at the high end of the weight recommendations, so I don't know if I should get it or not. Probably better off to play it safe with the 154cm. _________________

That's pretty brave to buy a board without taking it out for a demo

There's nowhere to demo around here. Nearest slopes are 2.5 hrs away. I may wait awhile yet. I am having a real problem with spending that much on something I use 15 times a year at the most. My old board is still in good shape, and I don't really need a new one. I pretty much, just looking for an excuse to buy one.
My computer is real old, maybe I should save up for a new one instead of a board _________________

JohnD, you figured out what you are going to do about a new board yet? _________________

well whats ur heigh and weight? well mainly weight? ur riding park, so the board is going to be on hard packed, so ur not going to have to worry about floatation, and the 150 might fit, just toe/heel drag might come into play. also if its cheaper, just go for it dont worry about what size it is or u are, the board will work reeally well for rails, and pritty good on jumps. _________________ philocify for life- SAY FUNK IT AND HUCK IT |

CHiLi DaWg, I'll make a list and then start checking out the boards in the shop. Once I've found a couple of boards that I like, I'll demo them and decide. Price will be a big factor too. I don't spend a lot of time in the park, so I'm not willing to shell-out big $$ for a freestyle board. I also have big feet, so I'll have to get a board with a wide waist.

If you aren't going to ride a lot check ebay, there are always good deals, especially this time of year. User 720sports usually has a lot of boards, I bought one from him a couple of years back. _________________
