Well I got to ride Watsons new board yesterday. I must say that I am very much impressed by it. Now understand that the conditions that we rode in were less than ideal , with rollers and chop everywhere , but we were still able to get a good feel for the board. First off , this thing is FAST. Once you roll on edge it flies. Secondly , the pop was amazing. We were riding behind a nautique 210 and so we didnt have to work at all to get the pop we wanted. Third , this board feels great on the surface. I would compare it to the Obrien Vision , which much of you know is what I currently ride and I love it. I rode it with the 2 center fins which allowed me to dig as I pleased without sliding out. Oh , also as I'm guessing you've already seen , it has a really wide tip and tail. I dont know everything about design and functionality , but I think that feature , added with the fins and rails , made it a very stable board to ride. Im going out with my pops to test drive a Nautique 211 on wednesday and I'll get to ride it again then. Hopefully the water will be better and I can really get a solid critique of the board.......Damn shawn , you and Jimmy know how to put together a good ride.
Rating: Watson: **** and 1/2 stars thus far due to choppy water
Vision: **** and 2/3 just beacuse it rocks my face off.
Peace. _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

the watson should pop wayyy harder than a continuous vision. it should hold edge just fine w/o center fins, so maybe give that a try next time. oh well differnt strokes for different folks. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002

Thomas P., yea I forgot to mention that the Vision is a continuous board. So obviously Watson is going to pop way more. _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

| Seems like watson have totally changed his board style... for the last acouple boards he has made have been slow, tail heavy and mellow riding... this new one sounds very aggressive.... |

| Ocean Rider, i doubt there is THAT much of a change. if anything it will just pop a little harder, land a little softer, and maybe its a little faster. The speed is probably the only major change ive heard about, but I think every wakeboarder wouldnt mind if there board carried a little more speed into the wake but its kinda hard to do if you have a 3 stage with a lot of rocker. |
