Hey All,

On one of my backroll attempts, I landed somehow on the side of my head and must have wacked my eye just right...the dang thing bled from the eye (didn't know until those on the boat told me once they'd turned around) and then proceeded to swell closed for an ENTIRE WEEK! My vision is finally clearing...this Sunday will be TWO weeks since I did it.

Sorry, no bloody pics

Wes

QNev, The E.N.T. doc said it will take 2 months to fully heal. I can hear just fine out of my ear, it is more annoying than anything.

Yea man I was doing a tantrum and came down funky and literally scraped my face along the water for about 3 or 4 seconds before I fell. I was bleedin from my eyeballs too , but it healed pretty quick. There are some places on you bod that have alot of blood flow and heal pretty quickly , the eye might be one of them but I'm not sure. Back rolls blow , I've tried them for awhile and always come up short. Sprained my ankle once trying it. TS Front rolls (front flips..whatever) just smack me nuts around too much too. Anyways....get better.

I invited this guy I worked with out on the boat one day, and he was out there 5 minutes and tried a raley. His eyes weren't bleeding, but by the time he got into the boat, one eye was almost swelled shut. I dont know how he did it, but man it was nasty. Hope the eye gets better. Oh, I've busted my eardrum twice (same one) and that freekin sux. Like Vette74 said, it's more annoying than anything, but it hurt a little for that first couple days.

i memba when i was more or less begining, i had a couple of times slid round to ride natural (im goofey) and then when i went out with my mate, i trieddoing it again and caught the front edge of my board and yea you guessed it, FACEPLANT!!!! but the worst bit was i landed like on my eye socket (you know when ya like cup ya hand over ya eye socket and it kinda suctions) so yea it suctioned to the water and DAMN did it hurt and as you probably know that really messes with ya confidence! but any way i got up and tried again... BAm faceplant and the exact same thing freakin happened, same eye socket and all! so ne ways i got back up thought bout it for a bit and then thouhgt ahh screw it ive jst gotta do it, so i slid my self round pretty fast and guess wat... i did it! i was like YAY finally! so i went to slide back round, caught the front lip, and FREAKIN FACEPLANTED ON MY RIGHT EYE SOCKET FOR THE THIRD TIME :S i was jst like AHHH god dam it people like me jst never learn!haha o well wat dosent kill us makes us stronger, (or blind)!
unfortunatley no bleeding, but it was very red!

Morry...haha that's awesome. Thanks for sharing Smile I can just imagine...how great it feels to finally get something and then bam...taken away just like that.

A friend of mine had been trying for a whirlybird. After landing it for the first time he made the rock-on gestrure with his hand and the front of his board caught and face-planted in the flats. --I can land a whirlybird but can't ride in the flats. We laughed for quite a while...Probably one of the funniest things all summer.

Ok so I came back! Well if you ever get the chance I suggest you try it, seriously its amazing! you just look down and the you can see the ground like flying along JUST bellow your board, ahhh good times! But anyways I was out having my run and my step dad who was driving went up close too shore because he knows my little trick, so i start cutting in hard so i get this cool looking line when I pull straight just short of the shore-line, anyways i kind of missed judged my gained speed gathered from cutting in, and it wasn't helped by the fact that this beach bit was rounded out cos it was just coming out of a little cove bit, so i hit this beach at about 25 - 28 miles, go face first into this beach (lucky it was slightly wet so they dirt was softer, unfortunately it wasn't sand though Sad ) and then my legs, still attached to board, come up over the back of my head and i end up lying on my back facing up the beach, it must of been the funniest thing ever to watch! and unfortunately we didn't get in on camera :'( but god it was hilarious! even i was laughing, and the amazing thing was that all that resulted from it was a few sore muscles nothing really bad at all hahaha oh man i wish ya had seen it! anyways thats my story, hope ya enjoyed it Razz
