When I'm doing my progressive edge I always have the board perpendicular or almost perpendicular to the wake. But now I think this is wrong, is progressive edge all about angle of the board in the water? What I mean is does progressive edge refer to how far the board has edged into the water with flat being like a zero and perpendicular to the surface of the water, with half under half above, being like a tenand that you should gradually progess through these numbers as you aproach the wake. I thought I understood it but I guess I really am a noob still.
sorry for the long question

First of all it may feel like te board is perpendicular to the wake but it isn't. If it was it would become a powerslide. You cant get the board perpendicular and 1/2 in 1/2 out unless you weigh like 600 and are riding a 118, there's just too much planing surface to push down.

Now, to answer your question, progressive edge has to do with constantly increasing the pressure on your edge and hence, your line tension. The angle of the board won't affect it.
