I've heard alot of good things about these fins (used on the substance and I think other but I'm not sure) and was thinking about putting a set of them on my new Transcend. Does anyone have any opinions on them? Are they worth it? I rode a Subjekt with them and I like the feel but that might have been the board.

The substance has molded outer fins, so there's no way you rode it with cupped fins. Did you mean the subjekt? Either way I don't think they would match up to a CWB board. I haven't seen one, so I'm not sure, but it's very unlikely.
That being said I liked them a lot when I rode a balance with just them and no center fin.

specifics...? How do they release? What kind of feel do they have? Off the wake? Fast or slow feeling? Locked in or a little loose?

they freaking rock... they release easy as smooth butter, they feel tight on edge, but loose swinging the board on the water... great off the wake.. very fast feeling, very loose

The CWB fins are normal fins. I really like that idea of the cupped fins so I'm thinking of trying them. I'll ride the board with the stock fins first of course.

one thing i have to say is- the cupped fins are 110% worth it if you have them on the right board/way. if it fits on your transcend, try it out, and if not, and you want to put them on you could always drill holes but that might be a little risky if they dont work out. the fins are definitely different than any other out there so id guess youd have to drill. i thought about the same thing with my old belmont, but i was better off just keeping the regular ones.

I rode a team last week with these cupped fins and I thought it felt way too grippy...probably cause I am used to riding a finless Premier.
